We hope you all had a fantastic first week of school. Please note that any classroom change requests, apart from exceptional circumstances, will not be considered until the end of October when our enrolment numbers are finalized. Please know that organizing students into classes is based on a number of factors. We kindly request your support in helping your child understand and accept their assigned class list for the 2025–26 school year. Your child’s homeroom teacher is the first point of contact for any questions or concerns and email is the preferred method of communication. Fee Waivers
For the 2025–26 school year, all parents requesting a school fee waiver will begin by applying through the central fee waiver process.

Bus Routes and Stops
Bus route, stop location and stop time information are available through MyCBE to registered students. The stop time provided is the time the bus leaves the stop. Please be at the stop at least five minutes before the scheduled departure time. Buses will not wait at or return to stops once they have left. CBE General Transportation

- Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions.
School Council / Parent Association
Dr. Egbert School Council / Parent Association meet monthly to discuss student learning and make decisions that impact our school community. Meetings are virtual and are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM. Parents and guardians in our school community are welcome to join. The first School Council meeting of the 2025-26 school year will be on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Parent Council can be reached at drgmegbertschoolcouncil@gmail.com. Please come and join this tremendous group with which we enjoy a strong partnership. No commitment is required and everyone from of our community is welcome to attend.
Athletics Updates
For all athletics tryouts, please ensure that your child comes prepared with appropriate athletic attire, water, and a signed copy of the Annual Authorization for Athletic Tryout (check all sports your child would like to try out for the school year). We encourage all interested students to participate, regardless of experience.
- Effective Sept 1, the Alberta Fairness and Safety in Sport Act comes into effect. All female athletes wishing to compete/try out for female sports teams are required to also return the following eligibility form alongside the annual authorization form above. Here are some more links from the Government of Alberta on this new legislation.
