Our Programs
Regular Program at the CBE
Even though most of our schools offer a regular program, no two are quite the same. All schools teach according to Alberta Education’s mandated curriculum, however a school’s focus, optional courses and school activities are as unique as every school.
Core Courses
Students are enrolled in core courses which are required by all students to complete during the school year. These include:
- Math
- Science
- Humanities
- Physical Education
- Health
Complimentary Courses
Students are given an opportunity to indicate their interest in the Complementary Courses offered by rating them 1 - 10 (1 being the course they want the most). As some courses are more popular than others, we do our best to enroll students in their top 6 choices. Due to limited enrollment, students are not allowed to change their courses once the school year has begun.

Assignment Completion / Homework
Completing assignments are necessary for students to increase and demonstrate their learning. Students at Dr. Egbert are expected to complete all assignments. Extension opportunities will be given to students within a reasonable time. If assignments remain incomplete, teachers will work with the students through a variety of options including phone calls home and homework clubs. Persistent and habitual incompletion will be referred to administration.
