Grade 9 Farewell

June 16, 2025 | Grade 9 Field Trip - Laser City

8:05 am – Students arrive at school 

9:30 am – Busses depart for Laser City 

1:00 pm – Busses pick up students from Laser City and return to Dr. GM Egbert School 

June 25, 2025 | Grade 9 Celebration of Learning

This year's Grade 9 Farewell event will take place on June 25th in the gymnasium at the school.  The formal program will begin at 2:45 pm. Guests with tickets can begin entering the gym at 2:15 pm. Due to capacity restrictions, students are limited to three tickets for their family. Unfortunately, extra tickets will not be available. Following the ceremony, parents will have time for photos with students. Doors will re-open at 6:00 pm for the farewell celebration and dance. Only teachers and Grade 9 students will attend this portion of the event.

Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) May/June 2025 

Please note that all PAT exam dates are regular school days.  Students are expected to resume scheduled classes following exams.

  • Monday, June 23 – Grade 9 ELA – Part B

Fees at a Glance

  • 47% of the complementary course fees remain outstanding
  • 56% of the Athletic fees remain outstanding
  • 22% of the Field Trips fees remain outstanding

Please kindly pay on or before May 31, 2025. As we have previously communicated, schools cannot cover all costs to offer programming. School fees that remain in arrears impact the ability to maintain certain programming in complementary courses or even lead to the cancellation of field trips. Note that school fees will be taken into consideration for the 2025/26 school year for those students whose fees remain unpaid. 

Transportation Registration is Now Open

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2025-26 school year using their MyCBE account. Learn more about service levels and proposed fees on CBE’s website.

Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.

Moving or Changing Schools? 

If you have moved (or moving) or if your family will be leaving Dr. Egbert School for the 2025-2026 school year, we ask that you please email the main office at drgladysmegbert@cbe.ab.ca to update us with your plans. 

  • Dr. Egbert School follows the Calgary Board of Education traditional calendar and the first day of school for students will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
  • Registration for the fall for students new to Dr. Egbert School is underway and we encourage you to register as soon as possible to help us with planning. Registration can be completed online through your MyCBE account, or through the website at www.cbe.ab.ca.
