Good afternoon Egbert families,
Please see as follows for important reminders and dates to remember:
CUPE Strike Labor Action Update
Please see the following reminders regarding changes at school due to labor action:
- Regular classes continue for all students.
- All students must exit the building no later than 3:15 PM. Exceptions: Volleyball practices and games.
- Volleyball games: Only parents/guardians/family members of participants may attend.
Sports Spectators
During the ongoing CUPE strike, volleyball games will continue as scheduled, but spectators at athletic events will be limited to parents/guardians of athletes directly involved in the event, and access will be limited to the gymnasium.
Additionally, there will be absolutely no food or drinks allowed in the gymnasium—yes, this even includes coffee. We understand this may not be ideal; however, our priority is to be able to run athletics for the students while ensuring our facilities stay ready for student learning.
School Council Meeting Wednesday, March 19 - Online
Our next School Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 PM online.
Parent-Teacher Conferences – Online Conferences
Conference booking live on Thursday. Please note that the Parent-Teacher Conferences, scheduled for Thursday, March 20 (3:30-7:30 pm) and Friday, March 21 (8:00am-12:00pm), will be online. This adjustment is due to labour action by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE); if the CUPE strike ends before this date, the conferences may return to in-person. The booking system for these online conferences will open through MyCBE on Thursday, March 13.
School Planning Survey
The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from families on school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. When students, staff and families work closely together, students experience greater success. We will thoughtfully consider all the feedback we receive in making decisions about school planning. Survey responses will be used only for the purpose stated in the survey and anonymity will be protected when sharing survey results. Personal information is collected under section 33(c) of Alberta’s FOIP Act and is subject to the privacy sections of the FOIP Act.
