Good afternoon Egbert families,
It has been a busy week after a nice long weekend.
Transportation Service & Bell Times - What's Changing for 2025-2026
For the upcoming school year, the CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones. This is in response to Alberta Education's School Transportation Amendment Regulation for student transportation that comes into effect on Sept. 1, 2025. This means many more students will become eligible to take the bus. The CBE has experienced record enrolment growth over the past three years as more families move to Calgary. A growing population also impacts transportation by increasing yellow school bus ridership and requiring more bus routes; schools at or near capacity; and increasing traffic on the roads, which means buses need a little more time to complete their routes.
As bell times are directly related to transportation, these upcoming changes will impact bell times at our school.

Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) May/June 2025
In May and June of this year, Grade 9 students across the province will participate in the Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs). Results from these tests will provide Alberta Education, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students, and the public with information about what students know and can do in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 9. These results can be used to improve learning opportunities for students and inform our School Development Plans for 2024-2027.
