Good afternoon Egbert families,

Thank you to all families who attended Parent/Teacher conferences. Your participation and engagement play a pivotal role in supporting student success, and it was wonderful to see so many meaningful conversations about learning, progress, and goals for our students. If you were unable to attend, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher – they would be happy to arrange a meeting at a time that works for you.

IPPs were sent home this week.  If you received an IPP for your student, please sign and return the signature page.

School Development Plan & Report to Parents on Fees

Our Report to Parents on Fees for 2024-25 and School Development Plan for 2025-26 has now been posted on Fees and Our School page. We encourage all families to take a few moments to review the document. This plan outlines our goals and initiatives for the current school year, and we invite you to review it and share any feedback you may have. Your insights are crucial to our continuous improvement. Staying informed about our goals helps strengthen the partnership between home and school, and we appreciate your continued engagement in our shared work.

Pick Up / Drop Off and Showing up ON TIME!

Our priority is the safety of all students and parents—including your children—as they arrive at and leave school. We want to remind families of expected safe practices for morning drop off and afternoon pick up, as we have seen an increase in unsafe (and at times illegal) driving habits with the colder weather.

To maintain a safe and efficient drop-off process, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Avoid the Bus Zone: Do not park or drop off students in the designated bus zone in front of the school. This area is reserved for CBE and special needs buses and must remain clear at all times.
  • Always Use Crosswalks: Crossing the road outside of marked crosswalks is unsafe and sets a poor example for students. Jaywalking creates significant safety challenges, especially as students begin navigating traffic on their own.
  • Respect Crosswalk Visibility Rules: Do not park or stop within 5 meters of a crosswalk. This blocks the view of patrollers and pedestrians, making crossing unsafe.
  • Staff Parking Lot is Off-Limits: The staff parking lot is reserved exclusively for CBE staff and cannot be used for drop-offs, pick ups or parking.
  • Plan Ahead: Arrive by 7:45 a.m. when supervision begins. This allows adequate time for a smooth drop-off and for your child to settle in before school starts at 8:10 a.m. Arriving late often results in rushing, tardiness, and classroom disruptions.

In addition, many students have been returning late from lunch.  Please speak to your child about being on time for classes.  Thank you for your cooperation.
